Riker Rhodes is a writer focused on dark fantasy and cosmic horror.
His work leans into themes of identity, psychology, and morality. He is particularly drawn to stories with many hidden layers of secrets and information, and where characters have to piece together truths about their reality on their own.
He takes inspiration from a range of sources, such as cosmic horror and weird fiction, eastern storytelling from anime and webnovels, even high fantasy and classic literary works. You may find traces of Lovecraft, Edgar Allan Poe, and Robert W. Chambers woven throughout his work, as well as a touch of contemporary eastern fiction.
His two main pulls to writing are massive worlds filled with unknowable forces and deep lore, and explorations of a character’s psyche and why they behave the way they do. He aims to create works that weave the two into a coherent narrative.
